Seychelles

What a weekend!

Where do I start… after a 48 hour whirlwind trip to the Seychelles we are feeling relaxed, recharged and ready for the downhill roll into the summer holidays.

The Seychelles is only a 4 hour flight from Abu Dhabi.  The short flight time, together with a brief transfer to the hotel and no time difference means you can switch to holiday mode from the moment you arrive at this island paradise.

The Banyan Tree Resort was our destination.  As soon as we arrived we sat out on the terrace where the views are simply stunning.  We enjoyed lunch and cocktails before we went to our beachfront villa.

And when we arrived in our Villa Matt had arranged for champagne and roses to be waiting for me – he’s a real romantic!

We decamped to the cabana beside our Villa pool, sipping our fizz whilst watching the sunset in this island paradise.

Friday morning was late breakfast and a lazy morning at the main infinity pool.  The weather was a mix of hot and showery which is to be expected in tropical climes although quite unusual for this time of year.  The odd shower proved a welcome break from the searing sun that saw us both getting a little sunburnt – ouch!

Later on we headed down to the beach for sundowners and a little more sun, a swim in our Villa pool followed by a dip in the hot tub! I like to try and fit everything in so that we feel like we’ve had the full experience.

Dinner that evening was at the local Creole restaurant at the resort.  The food was great and we finished off a perfect day with a nightcap at the hotel bar.

Before we could blink it was Saturday afternoon and time to pack those cases (only two this time, one for each day – ha!).  We started the journey back home to beautiful Abu Dhabi. We love to travel but there’s no place like home.

Next stop… Spain!

Where are you guys going this summer?
